Biblical Answers to the World Mission Society Church of God

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.--1 John 4:1

Are you or a loved one struggling with this group? Do you need Biblical answers about the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG or CoGWMS), their founder Ahnsahnghong (Ahn Sahng/Sang-Hong) or their current leader "Mother Jerusalem" (a.k.a. "Heavenly Mother God," Zang/Zahng Gil-Jah, or Chung Gil Cha)? Thank you for coming here. I hope my blog helps you. Questions and comments are always welcome.

Proof that the World Mission Society Church of God is False

I wrote previously asking World Mission Society Church of God members to share objective proof that their faith is true.  So far, no one has had any objective proof to offer.

Today, I'm turning the idea around to disproof.  What objective information do we have that proves the WMSCOG to be false?

I want to emphasize the word objective.  We're looking for provable facts here, not feelings, opinions and matters of interpretation.  (Click here for an example of why we can't just go by feelings.)

I love analogies.  It really helps me to understand something if I can see how it relates to or corresponds with something else.  Here's an analogy for you...

A popular movie these days at my house is Disney's "Tangled," the story of Rapunzel.  What I really find interesting as I watch it is the relationship between Rapunzel and Mother Gothel.  It follows so closely with the BITE model of destructive mind control.  As viewers, we can see how Mother Gothel manipulates Rapunzel in the relationship, but Rapunzel just sees it as love and care from her 'mother.'

In reality, Mother Gothel is not her mother at all and is using her for selfish means.  There's one moment, closer to the end of the movie, when Rapunzel finally realizes the truth.  One clue leads to everything unraveling.  What is that one clue?  Rapunzel and the lost princess share the same birthday.  Rapunzel combines that clue with everything else she saw when she escaped isolation (the symbol of the kingdom, the picture of the little princess), and the truth is revealed!

Now back to the WMSCOG.  If none of the other common reasons convince you, then please follow these clues, provable facts, to show you where the so-called 'truth' of the WMSCOG starts unraveling.  Thankfully there are many clues to find, not just one, and I'll list some for you here.

These are all matters of fact and logic and cannot be debated.  (1+1 = 2; can you debate that it doesn't?)  Well, if you'd like to try to debate these facts, go ahead, and I look forward to hearing from you about it.

The WMSCOG teaches that God lies

What do you call a 'God' who acts contrary to the nature of God?  A false god.  (Click here for more information.)

Isaac -- The WMSCOG teaches that Abraham's son Isaac was God in the flesh.  However, Isaac lied (Genesis 26).  God does NOT lie (Titus 1:2).

Ahnsahnghong's own book -- In the book "Problems with New Jerusalem, the Bride, and Women's Veils," Ahnsahnghong said that there was NO 'Mother God' and and specifically argued against the same verses the WMSCOG used today to try to prove there is.  The WMSCOG's position is that Ahnsahnghong wrote the book to prevent his followers from believing in the wrong woman as 'Mother God,' and then withdrew the book so he could reveal the right woman.  There are only two conclusions I can draw from this, neither of which is good for the WMSCOG.  Either:
Ahnsahnghong told the truth in his book, and there is no 'Mother God' (which disproves the WMSCOG) or...
Ahnsahnghong lied in his book, which proves he cannot be God (which also disproves the WMSCOG).

The WMSCOG uses false historical facts

I have been told that these are not actually false facts, but simplifications to avoid lengthy discussions of complicated history.  I understand the need to simplify, but even simplifications can (and should) be accurate.  Build doctrine on false simplifications, and you end up with false doctrine.

The 10 Kingdoms -- As part of the Pope-is-Antichrist doctrine, the WMSCOG teaches that the Roman Empire broke up into 10 countries, 3 of which were destroyed by the Catholic Church by 538.  The supposed 10 kingdoms are not accurate, 5 (not 3) were destroyed, and the kingdoms' religious faith was not a consistent factor.  (Click here and here for more information.)

The year 538 -- Again as part of the Pope-is-Antichrist doctrine, the WMSCOG teaches that the last of the three kingdoms to fall was the Ostrogoths, destroyed in AD 538, which began the prophesied 1260 years of the 'Dark Ages.'  However, the Ostrogoths were destroyed must later than 538, and there is no significance of the year 538 in Papal history either.  (Click here and here for more information.)

The WMSCOG has kept the Feasts incorrectly
(even according to their own regulations!)

This is an obvious clue for me!  If you are uncertain or confused about it, please click on the link provided for more details.

The Feasts of the seventh month -- According to the WMSCOG, keeping the Feasts of God properly is absolutely essential to your salvation.  The Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacles must take place on the specified days in the seventh month of the 'sacred calendar.'

But if you examine what has actually been done at the WMSCOG, you'll find that in 2005, 2008, and 2010, the seventh month Feasts were kept in the eighth month.  (Click here for the detailed chart.)  The only word I can think of to describe that is incompetence, and that is definitely not a word to describe God (or a church that claims to be lead by a God-in-the-flesh).

If you are a WMSCOG member, I pray that you will follow these clues to find true freedom in the real Jesus Christ.

  1. Sorry, this post is not proof. Not to me anyways. We are aware of the situation of the book "Problems with..." Although you have this site I'm still going to attend WMSCOG. Unfortunately you haven't convinced me. God has separated the people of the world. For example, some people see the moon as light, and others see the moon as darkness. Same moon but different people. Genny, is this your purpose in life, to persecute us? Some of us are not too concerned. Many people will live their life full of transgression. After reading many of your posts, i want to say sorry that you are so deceived. There are many holes in your arguments. But continue to do what you do. In the meantime I'm going to go to Zion that king David established in these last days.

    1. Thank you for reading anyway, even if you don't find the evidence compelling. It is your choice what to believe, but you should at least be informed.

For example, if I saw my husband in an amorous embrace with my best friend and found his love letters to her, I would be free to choose to ignore it all and continue the marriage as before.

If you know all the problems and still wish to stick with the wmscog, it's your right to do so.

I'm not sure why you consider my blog persecution, though. I have read anti-Christian literature and blogs, and have talked with people who disagree with me about Christianity, and been made fun of about it, and I guess I just don't feel the same way you do. Beatings, being sent to jail, denied a promotion, a lowered academic grade even... that might be persecution. But outspoken disagreement? I wouldn't consider that persecution.

I tell my own children that if they are feeling 'persecuted' because people disagree with them or make fun of them for their beliefs, then they need to learn how to be strong instead of wimpy, because that's nothing compared to the much, much worse consequences Christians around the world suffer for their faith.

I look forward to hearing from you what the holes are in my arguments. I'd appreciate the chance to fix them if possible, so please be specific. I hope you'll write back.

Once we have already committed a grievous sins in heaven and were expelled from Heaven to this Earth.. Earth is a temporarily place for sinners. we have to go back to our Home town Heaven.. Bro, i would like to tell you that dont listen to your self believe in Bible. Who believed in Jesus christ when he came to this earth ??? but finally everyone came to know that he is god. Dont make that mistake again bro.. Save souls, dont destroy the souls...

    3. To anonymous, is mother an actual God? If so, show me in the bible where it says that there is a "God" called MOTHER. If you can't, do not reply

    4. Hi Luis. Unfortunately it's a little more involved. They use a series of verses strung together with unusual interpretations. You can try to follow the logic in the conversation I've been having with Paul here: http://encountering-ahnsahnghong.blogspot.com/2014/04/heavenly-mother-conversation-with-paul.html

    5. Anonymous wrote in the second paragraph in response to genny stating "Genny is that your purpose in life to persecute us?" Yet, I can't help but find this comment hypocritical when this so called "church" calls the Catholic Pope the "Antichrist" I'm a born again Christian, and ex Catholic. The more I read the bible, the more I see how astray I was being lead my whole life. I enjoy reading my bible rather than having a leader in the church spoon feed me what they want me to hear, not allowing me, or the congregation to grow spiritually. I also have now full understanding of things to look out for such as False Doctrines; which the Lord warns us not to receive anyone not speaking of the Lord's Truth, into our home or greet them. 1John1:10

  3. Anonymous here again. Well are you open to having a discussion where i can freely discuss this site? You havent posted everything i sent. This site is unbalanced. You are quick to post all the negative, but you dont post all the positive about WMSCOG. Well, when i say "persecuting us" obviously i dont mean in a physical sense. When i say holes i mean some things that need more attention, clarification, unbiased opinion, statements that people are not going to fall into and get stuck. I guess that would be a hole. I can point them out if you are willing to let me. Its up to you. I'll have to get me a name to use on this site. Or do you want me to use my full name here? And you would want to make some ground rules? Obviously no cursing, no temper tantrums, try to be cool. Because you say things i dont like and I'll say things you wont like. Are you game? Call me Cyrus. That will be my new name.

    1. I'd be very happy to have a deeper discussion with you, Cyrus.

I am aware that I'm still not caught up with your comments, although there are so many people who comment here as "anonymous" that I can't always tell which belong to the same person. It would be much better when you comment to select "Comment as name/URL" and then pick a name for the "Name" spot. You don't have to leave an email address or URL, so it's still anonymous, but if you always use the same name, then I'll know which comments are from the same person.

Anyway, I still have all the comments I think are yours on file and I haven't forgotten about you. Would you like me to continue to publish and respond to them, or would you rather start fresh?

I can think of three ways to have a conversation.

      Option 1: by email
Just send me an email at knowhispeace@gmail.com
Benefits of this method -- Messages can be as long as you need. Plus you don't have to worry about being scrutinized by outside readers.
Disadvantages -- You have to be willing to share your email address with me (though you could set up a new, special one just for this purpose if it worries you for any reason). If you want our conversation to be available for all to follow, this wouldn't be the best option.

      Option 2: use the forum
Just sign up and get started at examiningthewmscog.com/forum
Benefits -- It's easy to break conversations into different topics, more organized that having everything in one long conversation. You can be notified by email when a reply is posted. You'll get input from a variety of people, not just me.
Disadvantages -- Maybe you don't want to hear from all those other people.

      Option 3: On my blog
Just let me know and I will start a special post just for our conversation and we'd use the comment section to talk back and forth.
Benefits -- It's all in one spot. You don't have to type in your email address anywhere (good if you want to remain more anonymous).
Disadvantages -- It would get long and hard to follow, so we'd have to stick to just one or two points at a time. Other readers may want to reply to you (though I could make it so only your comments were allowed on that post).

Please pick the option you prefer, and I'll look forward to hearing from you.

PS -- You called my site "unbalanced" because I don't post all the positive about the WMSCOG. I hope that I have posted the positive when it is relevant, but my site is not meant to sing the WMSCOG's praises. It's meant to inform people of things they aren't likely to hear from WMSCOG members.

Have you read any wmscog sites or member blogs (including wmscog.org)? They are unbalanced too, the other direction. Read both the anti- and pro-wmscog sites if you'd like to be "balanced."

    2. @Cyrus, why are you coming to this site if you believe 100% in your church, or could it be like many of us, that yes there are doubts or unanswered questions in your head.
You talk about this site being unbalanced, what about the wms site debuking everything in this site and the other site, but never ever publishing our remarks or questions, only the members comments get posted.
And yes it is your choice to continue going to the wms, even after knowing about the book, the lies, and the ever changing doctrine, but then don't critize us for you are a sinner just like us. I know your not a bad person, you are just too trust worthy and take mans word over God's. Study the scriptures by your self and trust no one when it comes to your soul.
GALATIANS 1:6-9 is giving you the answer. Find me a verse aside from GALATIANS 4:26 that proves that Paul preached a Mother God, please show all of us.

  4. Cyrus here again. I stumbled on this site by accident. And since I found the invite "WMSCOG members, please start here" I started there. And now I'm here. Plus I love a good debate. I'm in search of the truth. Maybe God has something for me being here. But in regards to the options, i choose the third one for now. And maybe I'll check out option 2 later. I don't have doubts or unanswered questions. I know some things in my particular church are not perfect with some of the people. And Im not perfect. But i found something there. And yes I regret I make mistakes and sin. No doubt. But we have atonement for our sins. In regards to some things you say, in your eyes they seem like lies, but they are a misunderstanding actually. Do you mind if i point out a few things from this site? And yes we should believe what the bible says. But who says "trust no one." My grandmother would say to me, if you dont go to church and hear the word, then Satan will give you a lesson. Dont forget there is still a deceiver out there. He is a crafty you know what. We can easily be taught be Satan. So what does the bible say? "Let us make man in our image... Male and female He created them" Genesis 1:26-27. "the Spirit and the bride say come... Take the free gift of the water of life." Revelation 22. The bride of christ is His bride. Guests are invited to the wedding supper, not the bride. We are the guests. Right? Comments please. Starting now...

    2. hi Cyrus, this is Eve, I have one question for you, please answer me back so that i may understand. Can you tell me why Mother had to be hidden since the begining. Why in the time of Jehova she was not mentioned and in the time of Jesus. I'm sorry but i just don't see the point of her been hidden for thousands of years or is there a point to it?????
I am not saying that there is no way there could be a female God, it's just the timing is off, Revelation 21:1 says THEN I SAW A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH, FOR THE FIRST HEAVEN AND THE FIRST EARTH HAD PASSED AWAY, AND THERE WAS NO LONGER ANY SEA. 21:2 I SAW THE HOLY CITY, THE NEW JERUSALEM COMING DOWN OUT OF HEAVEN FROM GOD, PREPARED AS A BRIDE BEAUTIFULLY DRESSED FOR HER HUSBAND.

The key word here in the first sentence of revelation 21 is THEN, meaning that revelation 20, THE THOUSANDS YEARS, SATAN'S DOOM, THE DEAD ARE JUDGED, have to happen before THE NEW JERUSALEM comes down from heaven.

ANOTHER THING, even if there was to be a mother God, GOD THE FATHER said in the 10 commandments YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.
DEUTERONOMY 13 WORSHIPING OTHER GODS, 2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
DUETERONOMY 13: 6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them.
DUETERONOMY 13:13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), 14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly.

WHY WOULD GOD SAY ALL THESE WORDS, AND THEN CHANGE HIS MIND TOWARDS THE END, NO MATTER IF THERE IS A FEMALE GOD, OUR GOD DID NOT SAY TO PUT HER IN FRONT OF HIM OR FOLLOW HER. HE SPECIFICALLY SAID IN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS NOT TO DO IT.
I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS FOR YOU ...SIR CYRUS...BUT FOR NOW LETS START WITH THIS.....THANKS :) Sincerely, EVE

    3. CYRUS you never answered back on, GALATIANS 1 VERSE 6-9
      No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

WHAT IS YOUR EXPLATION TO THESE VERSES CYRUS, WHERE IS PAUL PREACHING A MOTHER GOD, PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND HOW CAN GALATIAN 4:26 REFER TO MOTHER WHEN PAUL SPEAKS THESE WORDS BEFORE :/

      ~EVE~

    4. Hi Eve. This is Cyrus. I didn't realize you gave me a comment almost 2 months ago. Sorry about that.

You make a good point. I hear what you are saying. I think we have to realize the frame of time best we can.

People prayed to Jehovah in the old testament times. Jesus came at the appointed time, then people started to pray to Jesus. Then John had visions of Jesus and wrote the book of Revelation. Here we have a new set of prophecies. The Spirit and the Bride give the water of life. Also Jesus said he will give us His new name (Rev 3:12). So once again we have to examine the prophecies. Now people have started to pray to Christ Ahnsahnghong. Another change has taken place. God decides what takes place and appoints times and seasons for everything. How many people accepted Jesus? Very few at first. Now many many people believe in Jesus, and now people are claiming to be Jesus. Yikes. So God is separating the people, once again.

Jesus said until now you haven't asked for anything in my name (John 16:24). So gradually people stopped praying to Jehovah, and started praying to Jesus. There was a change. Can we agree with this?

Mother New Jerusalem wasn't in accordance with the will God in the old testament I believe. Until now. Revelation says the wedding supper of the lamb has come. Who comes at the end of a wedding ceremony? The bride, the wife of the bride groom. We know Christ has a bride. The bride has made her self ready (Rev 19:7). We know she is our Mother, because we are children of God. Make sense?

The Bible has been written by many authors. Today the whole bible is a book of prophecy for us. Rev 22:18 Can I say this is the same gospel, with a new name? We preach from the old testament, we preach from the new testament, we preach about the flesh and blood of Jesus, and we preach about second coming Christ and Mother.

    5. Dear me! Don't change the name Jesus Christ to Ahnsahnghong. There's no such korean name in the bible.

  5. Hi I was a member of WMSCOG. I keep all my Sabaths and keep their feast. On Nov 2012 me eyes open wide. I was told by a missionary not to follow the Bibble. What really? Since I was a child my parents though me the bible is the word of god. The missionary tried to convience me that God the mother said to follow her words. Once he said that I was out of there. I am so confuse now. Where can we go to to praise Jesus Christ. May The Lord have mercy on me for I was deceived by COG.So many teachings from them its really scary now to be able to walk into a church and wonder if its a true place to worship Jesus Christ.

    1. "Hi I was a member of WMSCOG" to Anonymous first off ur salvation doesn't bear upon u keeping Sabbaths & Jewish traditions, Gods word gives us these guidelines Acts 15;19-20 "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood."
and Jesus in Matt 19;16-21 lists 6 commands from the 10 commandments, none of which have anything to do w keeping Sabbaths or feast days. there r many good bible believing churches out there, if theres a Calvary chapel in ur area it would be worth a visit, if not, what ever u do stay away from heavy burden legalist churches, or the ones that say u have to b baptized in there church or speak in tongues to be saved, remember u r free in Christ Jesus, & saved by Grace, & Grace alone so no man can boast. God Bless you

  6. Believe what you want, but prophecies have been proven and will continue to reveal themselves until the 3rd coming when the children of god will be called up by God the mother. Besides easter is not a biblical event and neither is christmas.

    1. Thanks for your comment, Anonymous.

My church is full of love, joy, and blessings too. Is that proof that it is a true church? It helps of course, but true is not based on emotions. Please look for something more firm to base your faith on.

I'm still waiting for those "prophecies" to be proven. Maybe you'd like to read my articles about them and comment there. If you were to pick one or two of those prophecies as being firm foundations of your faith, which would they be? Would you be willing to discuss them?

I suggest you read my article about evidence for your faith: http://encountering-ahnsahnghong.blogspot.com/2012/05/evidence-for-your-faith-question-for.html

And by the way--the Resurrection and the birth of Jesus are both Biblical events.

I hope to hear back from you. I think we could have an interesting and enlightening conversation.

    1. I hope you read my article and didn't just come here to post a comment in an effort to gain points with "father and mother." I'm sure you have a strong desire to know God, but make sure that you seek to know the true God and don't let an imposter fool you.

There are many "second coming christs" in this world with a "new body, new image and new name," so how would you tell an imposter? You wouldn't just take their word for it, would you?
You would test them out and see if they measure up to the standard God set for Himself.

Please thoughtfully read the article on this page and consider the points. They are just a few that show that the wmscog does not measure up, and therefore Ahnsahnghong and Zahng Gil-jah should not be accepted as Gods.

  9. Hi Genny :) I am researching about this "God the Mother" and I saw your blog and have read all the comments. I must say I admire you for being patient with the commentators who disagree with your point. Just this week, someone came near me and told me all about this so-called "God the Mother" and asked me immediately if I would want to be baptized by them and have the Passover. I declined the invitation, knowing that I must not believe in someone or something that i have just known or is new to me. I am not contradicting the wmscog, but I also don't believe them. But there's one thing I want to share to others, and that is to always know the facts first before saying "Yes". I'm a Catholic, but there are things that my church does that I don't. I do believe in God, and what I want is to know the very truth, not just an interpretation, but the truth. And I do believe that only God can answer our questions.

  10. Ahn Sahng-hong was born in 1918 and had an earthly mother and father. In sharp contrast, Jesus was born of a virgin and had NO earthly father.

Acts 1:9-11, “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

  11. Hi Geny

Please call me Titus. I am currently a member of the WMSCOG.

First of all thank you for sharing your understanding 👏

    Now let's begin..

Isaac: We do not teach that Isaac was God in the flesh. He lied as per your bible quote to protect himself and his wife. Showed that he was just as human as you and me. However, we use Isaac as a similarity to Jesus. Isaac was promised to Abraham and Sarah. A child of promise. Isaac also had a half brother. Just like Isaac, Jesus too was a child of promise. Promised/prophesied to Joseph and Mary. A child of promise. Jesus too had sibling.

God The Mother: Please consider the fact that the bible was written hundreds of years ago in HEBREW. It was then translated in English by biblical scholars. Perhaps they made a mistake in translation perhaps not, no one knows for sure!! ELOHIM is the HEBREW word meaning GODS as in plural. More than one GOD. EL or ELOAH means one GOD. So why did the HEBREW text said ELOHIM? Genesis 1:26-27 "“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” IN THE IMAGE OF GOD HE CREATED MALE AND FEMALE! If what you're is true, perhaps every human should exist in both male and female form since we are made in his image!! Mathew 15:4 Jesus said " Honour your father and mother and anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death" Jesus speaks in parables, here he meant honour your God, the one who created life in the beginning just as your parents gave life to you!! Jesus never encouraged killing anyone so in this verse he meant death in hell or dead spiritually.

10 Kingdoms: Daniel 7:24-26 “The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time. “ ‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.”
‭‭This talked about Domitian the 11th Emperor. Domitian despised God and committed blasphemy. The Interpretation of Daniel's dream showed Kings NOT KINGDOMS.

538 AD/CE: The historical accounts of the OSTROGOTHS began from 370 AD when the HUNS attacked them. 538 AD there was NO OSTROGOTH KINGDOM. However you were right about them not being completely destroyed in 538 AD. There was NO KINGDOM but the people of OSTROGOTH still exist, some of them even migrated. You said they weren't completely destroyed until much later. This is true YES. By 555 AD, the OSTROGOTHS had no national existence, not because they all died but because they all converted to ARIAN CHRISTIANITY.

The Feast. Obviously The BIBLE was written hundreds of years ago, in the HEBREW LANGUAGE, and thus following the HEBREW CALENDER! We know that our feast does not fall on the SEVENTH MONTH of the 21st Century Calendar. We are all educated people with good logic. I'm NOT saying you don't. WE FOLLOW THE HEBREW CALENDER which falls in the 8th and 9th month of the 21st Century Calendar.

    God bless you.

    1. Hi Titus. I'm sorry for the delay in responding. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed comment. If you would like to continue a conversation, you are welcome to email me.

Isaac: If the wmscog does not teach that Isaac was God, then they have badly translated Ahnsahnghong's writings (see: http://encountering-ahnsahnghong.blogspot.com/2011/04/who-was-isaac-really.html), and if "Mother God" is truly in charge of her church here on earth in the flesh, why the bad translation?

God the Mother: If you believe that the Hebrew word Elohim always means gods (plural), then you do not understand how Hebrew grammar works. This is understandable if you do not speak Hebrew. Please see: http://encountering-ahnsahnghong.blogspot.com/2010/09/elohim-part-1.html

10 Kingdoms: If you think that Daniel 7:24-26 is speaking of Domitian, then you disagree with the wmscog's own interpretation.

538 AD: The books the wmscog uses themselves state that the Ostrogothic kingdom did not die out in 538. That date is key to the antichrist theory, yet it is inaccurate.

The Feast: Following the HEBREW CALENDAR, the wmscog did not get their dates right, not even according to their own requirements. They even called it the "7th month" when counting makes it undeniably the 8th month. I don't think you read the chart that I linked to.

I believe you truly want to follow God, but please consider the evidence so your trust is not misplaced.

  12. "Entertainment Obsessed" posted a comment on Jan. 13, 2016 at 10:23pm. I'm sorry, there was an embedded link in their profile which I cannot post. But the comment itself had an interesting analogy to rat poison. Here's the comment:

I'm grateful to the person who wrote this post. I am starting to feel very suspicious about this church I got baptized two and half months ago. I've been studying scripture on my own and have biblical authority to do so according to ACTs 17:11.

So far I've discovered wmscog is inconsistent with its teachings and according to my holy bible is not the true church. I have even more compelling biblical proof to prove it.

For example, if they are biblically based and do everything according to the bible, why was I not baptized in the same way the believers in the bible was?

Baptism in Greek is "immersion". If you look at acts 8:38, Romans 6 1,3&4, colossians 2:12 it describes how baptism should be done (btw it doesn't mention we are to be baptized in the name of ansh).

So why was water poured and I not put under water as an immersion replicating a burial? It's not semantics how do you BiBLiCaLLy justify this??

There are too many red flags that is making this church look borderline cultish.

Members are supposed to be coming to my house tomorrow to prove that we have a mother God and that ansgg is the true Christ. Idk why I'm even allowing that when the bible proves he is not.

Do you know why rat poison is so powerful? Because its 99% peanut butter and 1% poison.

That 1% can kill you. 1% of false doctrine can over power that 99% that LOOKS good

  13. Hi Genny, Nice blog you are maintaining here.

To the point. 2 months ago i got introduced to COG church. First I started believing them as they took bible as base. In two weeks they tactfully forced me into taking baptism in "bathroom" which I don't believe.Whenever I asked them doubts they either get angry or change the topic. They always indirectly preach and teach to not go to other churches.
And when they said that Jesus had came I stopped. My uncle prohibited them from teaching their word to him and I too started ignoring them. Then they directly came to my house where I told them to stop! That's the best thing I did.
And plz sont refer as Christ ahn... Jesus Christ is holy. He had no children and no wife like Ahn... And he did not die.

  14. Hi, the same Anonymous again.
I forgot to write that WMSCOG members told us that we are not required to follow all the Ten Commandments while it is mentioned in bible That you MUST follow all of them many times.
Also they themselves break the law " Thou shalt have no other Gods before me" when they consider a human as God.

    1. Hi Anonymous. You are right--even though they talk about keeping 'all the commands of God,' they don't keep the most basic one. They worship more than one God, and they are false gods too!

  15. Hi guys,

I been reading all the comments and here is my story. I thought I should write this so that someone who is in my position will be saved. My best friend was approached by a korean woman who ask my friend if she knew about God the Mother. She went ahead and showed my friend the word BRIDE written in the bible. My friend was surprised and a little curious. So, my friend gave the Korean girl her number. They have several 'bible studies' together. Than one day I called my friend and I happened to meet her at a mall where she was sitting with the Korean girl...what a coincidence. I have to say this..I am a Christian and my friend is Catholic. We both grew up believing in JESUS CHRIST AS OUR SAVIOR, however, we don't know the bible THAT WELL.

So lucky for the Korean girl, she was able to show versus in the bible and make us question our faith. During those bible studies, she never mentioned their 'Christ' or the 'mother'. She kept on encouraging us to follow 'their' passover and keep the sabbath or else we are sinful people. I, on several times tried to debate about the meaning of the versus she read on the bible. They somehow confuse you...but in my heart I knew something was wrong. Three bible studies in, I researched online and found numerous people with similar experience as mine. I showed it to my friend and confronted the Korean girl who I considered now to be my friend. The girl kept saying 'sister we need to study more, only than we can understand the truth'. I wasn't buying it anymore. I HAD A GUT FEELING THAT THIS WAS A CULT. Jesus had saved me numerous times and I THINK HE SAVED ME AGAIN. When I saw the picture of their 'mother' in the church, I knew something was fishy. They never tell you what they believe in, in the beginning. When they see that you believe about their teaching of the bible...ONLY THAN they tell you about 'anh' and 'the mother'.

I told my friend about what I had found and encouraged her to do her own research. Thank God that my friend believed that they were fake. She also had an uneasy feeling about them. Honestly, if you have been encountered with these people who are preaching about 'the mother', don't follow them and do your own research or talk to a pastor. Its very easy for 'them' to get followers who are new to Christianity or who are struggling in life.

    I WISH EVERYONE GOODLUCK.

  16. 2000 years ago many jews believed that what they doing is right.. What they are following is according to God.. Well all of them did not receive the life.. Why? Because they failed to recognize that Jesus is God in the flesh..

Why is that? Bec no one believed the bible.. God coming in the flesh is unheard of during that time.. Hard to believe.. But now no one is questioning that jesus truly is God in the flesh..

The bible testifies about the 2nd coming Christ.. But most of the people thinking that they are correct will fail to receive him for the same reason that they didnt believe the bible..

There is nothing new under the sun...

  17. I've been approached twice here as I live in Korea. There are multiple experiences shared online in other blogs too.

    Great website, keep it up!
The amount of stubbornness and unwillingness to answer my questions and challenges really does disappoint me. But as you do on this website, I guess we need more patience.

It's just really sad so many people are caught up in this false teaching.

  18. Hi. I grew up Catholic but I am new to bible study since I did not dedicate much time to church early in life. I do believe in God and the words of the Bible, but I was approached by believers of Ahn... and their explanations make absolute sense. But I feel wary of their introduction of a second God and of Ahn.. being the new name of God. I was baptized by this church, but I felt terribly guilty afterwards with no real explanation as to why. Now I just feel confused about religion and everything in life because I do not know who to believe. I have been taught not to fall victim to false prophet or the temptation of the devil, but how do I know which is which? Are the people of WMCoG lying to me and trying to deceive me, or is the test to see whether I will really embrace God despite temptation of a false prophet. The WMCoG told me my family was being used by the devil to trick me into not believing them, but I feel wrong in my heart following their teachings. I desperately need help and I'm seeking guidance so that I don't chose the wrong path. I'm asking for someone to please help me. Thank you.

    1. Hi! I know I'm responding almost a month later but you and I are nearly the same in our experiences! I grew up Catholic too but when I was first approached by the wmscog everything they said made so much sense to me and like you said, I felt so guilty for some reason after talking to them and believing them. I was so confused and stressed about religion until I had this very strange dream, and I decided to go to my Catholic church, the same one I went to growing up, and walking in there, with everyone being so kind... wow... We sang Amazing Love during Mass (my church has a live band and they're amazing) and I literally cried the entire time and I just felt like I was in the right place. I had gone to some of the wmscog saturday services and I felt nothing during their service. They pray to false gods. My advice to you - follow your heart. You know in your heart that something about their teachings is off. I think God is trying to send you a message :)

    2. If your heart leads you in the right direction, that's great. But "the heart is deceitful" (Jer. 17:9), and sometimes it does not lead us correctly. There are plenty of people in false religions, cults, and even personal relationships that are destructive in one way or another, but they could say they are following their heart. It's important that what your heart feels is backed up by facts, or at least not contradicted by facts.

    1. Hi John. True, but there is also no word for Trinity, yet we would explain that the idea is there. I think the wmscog would use the same argument. They would say that the idea is there. However, they are still wrong about it.

  21. Hi, I'm from Philippines and I, too, was approached by these people several times. And in those times, I never really believed them. And I can't defend myself that much because I am not that equiped with the Bible—however I do know that no verse in the Bible ever stated "God the Mother" or "Mother God" literally. When I asked them to cite a verse where she—this Mother—was referred to or titled as "God", they showed me several verses which didn't really answered my question and in the end, they got frustrated with me that they decided to end the conversation. Oh, and they said that no one can interpret the Bible, only Jesus can, so now my question—or rather, my request—is they cite me a verse where this mother is referred to as God. Thank you. This is only to sate my curiosity.
