Biblical Answers to the World Mission Society Church of God

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.--1 John 4:1

Are you or a loved one struggling with this group? Do you need Biblical answers about the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG or CoGWMS), their founder Ahnsahnghong (Ahn Sahng/Sang-Hong) or their current leader "Mother Jerusalem" (a.k.a. "Heavenly Mother God," Zang/Zahng Gil-Jah, or Chung Gil Cha)? Thank you for coming here. I hope my blog helps you. Questions and comments are always welcome.

About Me

Hello and Welcome!  You may call me Genny.  I am a born-again, Bible-believing Christian.  I'm very active in my home church (a common, mainstream, evangelical church) and seek to live my life in a way that pleases the Lord.

I'm happy to respond to all questions and comments sent by email.  My address is  I also appreciate comments sent through the post comment forms, although I am not always able to publish them.  For a guaranteed response, email is best.

Here's a little of my story:
In the spring of 2008 my sister started telling me about the new church she was attending.  She was very excited about it, but soon things started sounding... not quite right.  I came to find out that this new church was the World Mission Society Church of God, who considers it's founder Ahnsahnghong as God, the second coming of Jesus Christ, even though he died in 1985.  (Sometimes his name is spelled Ahnsanghong, or Ahn Sahng Hong, or Ahn Sang Hong.)  Their current leader is a Korean woman they call Heavenly Mother Jerusalem (a second "God"), and members may go visit (worship) her in Korea.  Many call this group a cult.

Since discovering what this church is really about, I have been doing what I can to help my sister and to help others who are dealing with this group, especially through Bible study and apologetics.  It's important for us to be well informed and understand the church's teachings and methods.  I set up this blog to share my personal Bible studies and research regarding the WMSCOG's doctrine.

I have no desire to expose my sister herself--She is a smart, caring, capable woman, and I pray she will one day think more clearly about all this.  But I find it my duty to expose the false doctrine of the World Mission Society.  If you are thinking about joining... Well, God gave you the free will to believe in any faith you wish, whether it's true or not, but before you put your trust in the WMSCOG, you should be fully aware of what they teach--things they won't tell you at the beginning when they are trying to draw you in.

All of my information about the WMSCOG comes from their own official church websites and publications, from reading Ahnsahnghong's books, and from direct conversations (in person and online) with my sister and other church members, ex-members, and families/friends of members.

If you'd like to read more about my story regarding my sister and the WMSCOG, go to the list of topics to "experience."

I hope you are blessed with help and encouragement from my blog.
