Biblical Answers to the World Mission Society Church of God

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.--1 John 4:1

Are you or a loved one struggling with this group? Do you need Biblical answers about the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG or CoGWMS), their founder Ahnsahnghong (Ahn Sahng/Sang-Hong) or their current leader "Mother Jerusalem" (a.k.a. "Heavenly Mother God," Zang/Zahng Gil-Jah, or Chung Gil Cha)? Thank you for coming here. I hope my blog helps you. Questions and comments are always welcome.

  1. Anyone who denies this is a cult... is in it.

  2. We cannot claim this is a cult without knowing what they believe in. The reporter said they are unorthodox which means they go against biblical Christian teaching however, they do not state anything about the beliefs of the church to prove that it's unorthodox. The reporter even said the church members take part In worldwide community service then what about that is a cult? Please try to be open minded before judging an organization. This type of news only exposes one side and should not be accepted as the complete truth by the audience.

    1. The reporter did address both sides. You can't reasonably address all of what the wmscog believes in an 8 minute television segment. Anyone who is interested can find out from multiple websites (including this one and the church's own website). Community service is good of course, but does it prove the church is good and is not a cult? Did you know that Scientology, the Unification Church (Moonies), and atheist "churches" do community service? So do numerous mainstream Christian churches, including the Catholic Church. Please look at all evidence regarding the wmscog, not just the evidence they want you to see. As the quote goes, don't be so open-minded your brains fall out.

    1. That is a useless reason to try to prove the wmscog true. Any modern-day group that believes their leader is the second coming of Christ, or believes they are being unjustly called heretic, can use that argument. It proves nothing. You must look at the groups claims themselves.

  4. This is absolutely a cult. Our daughter became a part of it on a weekend trip to visit friends in NC. In one weekend she was recruited and married to a member. From that point on she was not allowed to set foot in the church that lovingly raised her and that she was very active in. We have seen the multiple personality develop- cult daughter vs. our daughter. It has broken our family. But we still have hope. Young people rarely stay in cults forever. For now, we watch and pray.

    1. My daughter in law married today someone from the WMCOG whom the Family does not know. Suddenly she said was getting married. They arranged the wedding, the legal papers signed by one of them also. The parents are devastated, no party, no bachelor's party, could not say goodbye as we are accustomed. No crucifix allowed, according to them the Pope is the antichrist. They were given the task to start a church somewhere different from where they both work and live and they are changing cities... She never mentioned him, we never met him.

    2. They have a new group of them in Victorville,CALIFORNIA Going around knocking on doors. MY husband has been having Bible study with them. They invited us to one of their services were i was very uncomfortable and not fooled by their twisted words. I wish there was something i could say to my husband about them. He won't listen to me, when i tell him about them. Any ideas on what would help.

  5. I guess we leave that to God. The word of God says we do His will by observing God's laws and ordnances. God bless us all

    1. And one of God's most repeated instructions is that we are to worship the one, true God, no other. Yet, the wmscog worships two gods.

  6. I'm catching up on comments after being away. Mar. 28, a young woman left a comment here, but I need to edit it to remove personal information. (And to the writer, I'm sorry about what you are going through. You are always welcome to email me.)

"I am very concerned that my youngest sister may have joined this cult. I have been reading post from her about the personalities, voices she hears. She mentions the mother in some of her posts, then all of a sudden no one knows where she is or what she is involved in. I wonder if she is safe. I have no way of knowing where she is. No more cell phone, no more facebook posts. She was last known to be in the [____ ____], [____ ____] area. Praying we can at least locate her and know that she is safe, and in this at her own free will. I love and miss her."
