Biblical Answers to the World Mission Society Church of God

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.--1 John 4:1

Are you or a loved one struggling with this group? Do you need Biblical answers about the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG or CoGWMS), their founder Ahnsahnghong (Ahn Sahng/Sang-Hong) or their current leader "Mother Jerusalem" (a.k.a. "Heavenly Mother God," Zang/Zahng Gil-Jah, or Chung Gil Cha)? Thank you for coming here. I hope my blog helps you. Questions and comments are always welcome.

Would God pull such a trick as this?

Is God good, just, and honest? Or sneaky and underhanded, changing the rules mid-game?

The World Mission Society Church of God teaches that there are TWO Gods—a male God and a female God. Not two aspects (male and female) of the same one God, but two distinct Gods. They say that God the Father waited until these last days, his own timing, to reveal the heavenly mother to the world. Ahnsahnghong supposedly restored this lost truth, and now people cannot receive salvation unless they worship “Father Ahnsahnghong” as well as "Mother Jerusalem" (Zahng Gil-Jah, sometimes spelled Chung Gil-Cha).

But there is a problem with this. Read Deuteronomy 13. Here are some of the verses:
1  “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

6 “If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, 7 of the gods of the people which
are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, 8 you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him;

12 “If you hear someone in one of your cities, which the LORD your God gives you to dwell in, saying, 13 ‘Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods”’—which you have not known— 14 then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And
if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination was committed among you, 15 you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying it, all that is in it and its livestock—with the edge of the sword.

So far, in the history of the world through Deuteronomy, only God the Father (the “male” image of God, as the WMSCOG sometimes calls him), had been revealed to the Israelites. And He gave His people a stern warning NOT to worship any other gods, gods that "neither you nor your fathers" have known.  And yet, now in these end times, God is supposedly telling His followers to worship another God—the “female” God?

I imagine a conversation something like this…

Father God: My dear people, I would like to introduce you to your heavenly mother. Worship her as you do me, for we are both Gods.

Israelite (which is any believer since we are “spiritual Israelites”): But God, what do you mean? Worship a second God? Didn’t you tell us in Deuteronomy 13, not to worship any other gods, gods we have not known before?

Father God: Yes, I remember telling you that, but times have changed. It is now time for me to reveal to you your Mother God. You must worship her as well as me if you want to come to heaven.

Israelite: Didn’t you know you were going to tell us about her? Why did you tell us not to worship any other gods if you knew you were going to tell us about this second god later?

Father God: OK, well maybe I should have said things differently back in Deuteronomy, but I’m telling you now.

Israelite: You should have said things differently? You mean you made a mistake…?

No, God doesn’t make mistakes. A “God” who contradicts himself like this is not God at all but God’s enemy.

  1. That's so true, God says he alone is God and there's none but Him

Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me

  2. i have run into this cotradiction with one of the members of WMSCOG. They then direct me to the verse in the old testiment where God says that he is the only way to salvation. but then say he cotridicted hisself when Jesus came and said that the only way to salvation is through him. They say this is why gods own ppl crucified him becuase the time limitation had expired and the ppl then said Jesus couldn't have been the savior when God clearly stated in the old testiment that He alone is the only way to salvation.

  4. Hi Genny, you write this because you do not understand the Trinity.
Jas 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ...

So... according to your theory, James definately went to hell because James worshiped 2 Gods

Rev 19::10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brother who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!..."

Rev 5:8-13 ... the four living creatures and the 24 elders FELL DOWN BEFORE THE LAME...
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and
strength and honor and glory and praise !

According to Genny's theroy above, the 4 living creature and 24 elders are subject to hell, aren't they?

    1. Yep, John who wrote Rev is in trouble now.lol No wait there is also John 8:47 John wrote down who Christ said is the liar as well as 1 John 2:3-4. So a liar is someone who does not obey Gods Commands, Jenny why do you fear the only ones that are truly following Gods Commands?

  5. 1 John 5:7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

    There is no mother Here.

  6. Interesting conversation between God and Israel, lol.

Now, seriously. Jesus never mentioned about God the Mother.
He mentioned EXPLICITLY about Heavenly Father and Holy Spirit (John 14, 16).
WMSCOG's argument are Jesus said "will raise them up at the last day" (John 6) and that refers to Mother.

First, if they can read properly, "will raise them up at the last day" does not spell Mother. There's not even a letter O in there..

Second, they insist Galatians 4:26 proves there's a Mother just because the word mother is there, when the writer of the book (Paul) already said EXPLICITLY that it is to be taken figuratively. By the way, notice that the word mother starts with lower case m instead of capital M.
And now, they want to apply a hidden meaning for John 6 when there is none?

I guess, it's like what you said, Genny, there is no consistency, only what is convenient to them.
