Biblical Answers to the World Mission Society Church of God

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.--1 John 4:1

Are you or a loved one struggling with this group? Do you need Biblical answers about the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG or CoGWMS), their founder Ahnsahnghong (Ahn Sahng/Sang-Hong) or their current leader "Mother Jerusalem" (a.k.a. "Heavenly Mother God," Zang/Zahng Gil-Jah, or Chung Gil Cha)? Thank you for coming here. I hope my blog helps you. Questions and comments are always welcome.

Summary of Mistakes

In the literature and books from Ahn Sahng-Hong and the World Mission Society Church of God there are many errors in their references to the Bible.  These errors may be caused by poor scholarship, but I'll be kind and assume they are simply mistakes.  In either case, however, God does not make mistakes.  Therefore, Ahn Sahng-Hong cannot be God.
And for those more recent mistakes (after the death of Ahn-Sahng Hong), "Mother Jerusalem" should not allow such errors, so she cannot be God either.

I've heard WMSCOG members try to compensate for these mistakes.  For example, with the one about Jesus preaching during the Feast of Tabernacles, they said that He actually preached every day, just not publicly.  But notice that Jesus went in secret for the first half of the feast.  If He had been preaching at all, His presence would have become known.

It is also interesting to note how much the WMSCOG changes what is written in the Bible considering their insistence that, "We can never enter the kingdom of God if we add anything to the words of the Bible or take words away from it. We need to accept everything God has taught us through the Bible just as it is...." (quoted from Jericho and Babylon sermon)

I'll keep track of these mistakes here, adding more as I find them...

The Bible Ahnsahnghong / WMSCOG
He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
      A God of truth and without injustice;
      Righteous and upright is He.
--Deuteronomy 32:4

And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous [just] are Your judgments.”
--Revelation 16:7
Ordinary people are the angels, or the holy people of heaven, who sinned and were born as men; they were driven out from heaven because they rebelled against God, being tempted by Satan. Among them, some sinned unintentionally, being tempted, and were unjustly accused and hurled to the earth.
--The Mystery of God and the Spring of the Water of Life, p. 337 (Chapter 25)
[note: This would mean that either God "unjustly accused" them, or allowed them to be "unjustly accused.")
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'  This is the first and great commandment.
--Matthew 22:37-38
Although the people of Judah seemed like they were observing God’s laws, they neither realized the Passover, the greatest commandment in the Law, nor kept it.
--The Mystery of God..., p. 105 (Ch. 8)
But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.  Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
--John 7:10, 14

Jesus Christ went up to the temple and preached every day during the Feast of Tabernacles,…
--The Mystery of God..., p. 465 (Ch. 34)
So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
--Exodus 12:30
Even Egyptians who put the lamb’s blood on their houses, were saved.
--The Mystery of God..., p. 449 (Ch. 33)
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
--Hebrews 9:12
[note: The word for "once for all" means "once for all time" not "once for all people."]
Jesus entered the Most Holy Place in heaven for the second time on October 22, the tenth day of the seventh month in the sacred calendar, 1844....
--The Mystery of God..., p. 61 (Ch. 4)
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
--Luke 15:7
Therefore "ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent in heaven" in Luke 15:7 are thousands upon thousands of angels in heaven...
--Visitors from the Angelic World, p. 22 (Ch. 5)
[note: "In heaven" has been moved, changing the meaning of the sentence.]
A new commandment [entole = ordinance, injunction, command, law] I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
--John 13:34

Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant [diatheke = testament, will, covenant] in My blood, which is shed for you."
--Luke 22:20
The words in John 13:34, "A new command I give you," are the same as the words in Luke 22:20, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood...." ...  The new covenant [in Luke 22:20] is described as a new command in John 13:34....  It's because the two are the same words, the new command is the new covenant.

But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand
--Matthew 7:26
[note: Jesus says nothing about imitating others.]
There is a great difference between a person who knows the value of the truth and a person who does not know its value but just tries to imitate others. Jesus compared the former to a man who built his house of faith on the rock, and the latter to a man who built his house on sand.
--Be The Ones Who Know the Value (online sermon and in Boast About God, by Joo-Cheol Kim, p. 54)
He prayed to the LORD, “Isn’t this what I said, LORD, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity.
--Jonah 4:2
[note: Jonah was not afraid for his life.  He did not want the Ninevites to hear the message and repent because he knew God would relent.]
Jonah was afraid to preach God's word in Nineveh. In fear of his life, Jonah sought to flee by ship to a remote country....  Jonah thought that the Ninevites were a wicked people and none of them would listen to God's message. His problem was the fear of failure.
--Fear and One Talent (online sermon and in Boast About God, by Joo-Cheol Kim, p. 90-91)
[note: The online sermon has corrected the wording in the book.]
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” ...
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
--Genesis 3:2-6
[note: Nothing is said of the fruit being "flavorless and distasteful" before.]
When Adam and Eve were filled with God's word, the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil seemed flavorless and distasteful to them.
--One Man's Obedience and One Man's Disobedience (online sermon)
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
--Revelation 22:17 [NIV 84]
The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come! Whoever wishes, let him come and take the free gift of the water of life."
--Jericho and Babylon (online sermon and in Boast About God, by Joo-Cheol Kim, p. 236)

... Indeed their ear is uncircumcised,
      And they cannot give heed.
      Behold, the word of the LORD is a reproach to them;
They have no delight in it.
--Jeremiah 6:10

You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.
--Acts 7:51
[note: Nothing is said about "not understanding."  Rather, they resist and refuse what God says.]
People commonly say of the person who is slow in understanding what others say, "He has a bad ear." Likewise, the Bible says of him who does not understand what God says, "He has an uncircumcised ear."
--He Who Has an Ear Hears God's Voice (online sermon)
...Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore....
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write,
These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: “...Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. ... Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
--Revelation 1:17-18; 2:8-10
[note: The "First and the Last" is Jesus, not the archangel Michael.]
Rev 2:10 "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. ... Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life."
The above words are spoken by the archangel Michael, who drove the devil our enemy out of heaven; He encourages us to fight the battle against the devil and win the victory over him in this earth, so that we may reach our heavenly home. This is a command given by the archangel Michael, commander of the heavenly host, to the armies of heaven.

But Abram said, “Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” ...
And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”
--Genesis 15:2-4
[note: God says nothing about Eliezer being "not suitable," just that he will not be the heir.]
However, God said that Eliezer was not suitable to be Abraham's heir and that a son coming from his own body would be his heir.

...But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” ... So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils...
--Genesis 25:29-34

But he said, “Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.” ... And Esau said, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and now look, he has taken away my blessing!...
--Genesis 27 (verses 35-36 shown)
Even though the blessing did not originally belong to us, we made efforts to acquire it, so God opened a way for us to advance towards it. Since we have obtained the birthright through our hard efforts, as did Jacob, we should not neglect it.
--The Birthright and Privilege (online sermon and in Boast About God, by Joo-Cheol Kim, p. 155)
[note: Jacob got the birthright by cooking a bowl of stew and being opportunistic and deceitful... unless that's what Mr. Kim means by "hard efforts."]
Besides the Bethlehem manger at birth...

Luke 2:22-39 tells us that Jesus was presented as a baby at the temple.

Matthew 2:13-23 tells us that He went to Egypt to escape Herod, and then lived in Nazareth.

Luke 2:41-50 tells of Jesus going to the temple when He was 12 years old.

And Mark 1:12-14 says that immediately after His baptism, He went into the wilderness, before going back to Galilee.
The place Christ first visited in this earth was not the magnificent temple built for 46 years. He visited the Sea of Galilee where Peter was fishing to earn his livelihood.
--The Reason Why God Came in the Flesh (online sermon)
Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.  For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.  Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.
 --Luke 21:34-36
[note: Jesus says nothing about "economic difficulties."  There are many other worries and anxieties of life beside the economy.]
Lk 21:34-36 『"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life...
"The anxieties of life" mean "worries about economic difficulties." Every family may face financial difficulties occasionally. However, the anxieties of life which the Bible prophesies about do not only refer to the financial difficulties in individual families but to the economic crisis occurring throughout the world.
--This Is the Age When God the Mother Is Needed (online sermon)
“Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. For I feared you, because you are an austere man...’
--Luke 19:20-23
[note: Nothing is said about the man "postponing his duty," only that he feared the master.  He was afraid of losing the master's money.]
However, he rebuked the one who just brought back the one mina. He did not use the mina he was given to benefit others. ... he put it off till tomorrow. When tomorrow came, he deferred it until the next day. He just postponed his duty like this, and did not do anything until his master came back.
--The Most Important Thing in This Age (online sermon and in Boast About God, by Joo-Cheol Kim, p. 136)
Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’
“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘... you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.
--Matthew 25:24-27
[note: Nothing is said about the man being afraid of "sprouting," only that he feared the master.  He was afraid of losing the master's money.]
In the parable of the talents, Jesus rebuked the man who had received one talent and didn't allow him to enter the kingdom of heaven. It was because he just kept the talent, without breaking his own self. How about those who had received two or five talents? They broke themselves to be born again, so that they could bear much fruit. The man who had received the one talent, however, kept it to himself for fear of the pain of sprouting. That was why Jesus rejected him.

[Ok now, someone please show me where in the Bible it says that we will be visiting all the galaxies in the universe when we are in heaven, because I can't find that anywhere.  Anyone want to help with this one?]
Now, let's confirm through the Bible that only those who celebrate the feasts of God are given the heavenly glory with which they can freely visit the galaxies in the infinite universe, the everlasting kingdom....  God has promised us that we will travel around the spacious universe forever and ever....  Before long, those who celebrate the feasts of God will share in the glorious salvation, freely traveling into the universe....  They desire to travel to the moon one time even by spending a great deal of money-over one million dollars. Let them know that there is a free ticket not only to the moon but also to other planets such as Mars, Venus and the Bear.

  1. Hi Genny,
I was in the same boat as you. I have attended a few services until the last feast of tabernacles and as the days goes by I found myself asking more and more question about ASH and God the Mother. I was surprised how annoyed they became and refused to answer my questions. Later on, I was soon being side cast and now I am totally kicked out from the group. Well kinda sad in a way how people can be doing such thing. Well if a person who does not understand and willing to know more, at least give a chance for him or her to understand instead of being kicked out.
To anyone out there who is looking for the truth, well my only advice is to read and read the bible more. You will know that love is the foundation and repentance also. So please read more of the bible instead of picking 1 or 2 sentence and summarize everything.

  2. Thanks for writing. It is sad to be treated in such a way, but considering the case, you can consider it a blessing this time since it saved you from joining the group.

  3. Hey Genny:
I agree on a lot of these but some of these seem to be equivocation rather than errors.

Also as for the one about Egyptians being saved through the Lambs blood, many Jews believe this to be true as well, that certain Egyptians sided with the Israelites and participated in the Exodus as well and that the verse
So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
    --Exodus 12:30
Is a reference that is a slight hyperbole discounting the obvious that no one who kept the Passover was harmed, and also the fact that participating Egyptians were few and far between.

  4. Hi. I'm glad to hear from you.

I do agree that Ex. 12:30 is something of a hyperbole. And I do agree that any Egyptian household that participated in the Passover would have been spared. However, the Bible mentions nothing about those cases. We can speculate about it (and about other verses in this list), as long as we keep in mind that it is speculation.

If you have talked with a wmscog member for any time, you've probably heard them say how important it is to just read the words of the Bible without adding any of man's interpretation to it. But when you look at it, that's just it. They do what they say *not to do.

  5. I would love to sit down w/you and show you and the world how wrong you are. You were never even a Church of God member... that says a lot about you. I've gone through this website and you have so much false information on here it's ridiculous. This website makes me laugh... I've posted several comments but you've never responded to them, maybe because you can't explain your inaccuracies. I posted about the "Birth Baptism and Death of Ahnsahnghong" you never responded to that" I posted about "the Pope isn't the AntiChrist" you never responded to that. I have yet to see an explanation to anything i've posted and you probably wont respond to this and i'm sure i'm wasting my time. If you really have the truth then you should respond to my post, you'll know which ones they are, they are the ones that expose your accusations as false. I also use the bible. So plead your truth... but you cant. You are deceiving so many people. I really feel bad for you soul. but it is written that this kind of stuff has to happen. John 15:18-25

    1. Hi Topsy,
I'd love to sit down for a conversation with you too. We could have a conversation by email or on the forum (examiningthewmscog.com/forum). Let me know if that would suit you.

If you have found false information here, please specify what it is so that I can attend to it.

Your comment on "Birth, Baptism..." was published, and I responded to it on September 12. You must have missed it.

I don't have a comment from you on my series about the Pope. Either there was a transmission problem or it got sidetracked some how by the spam filter. I save (and appreciate!) all non-spam comments, even if they are not published for some reason, so if I received it at all, it would be in my file. You are welcome to send that comment again.

    2. Topsy, I do have a couple comments from "anonymous" that were submitted to the "Pope" summary that say I'm "false." Were those yours? They were only submitted in the last couple hours. Please be patient with me, I'm not always fast at approving and responding to comments (and rarely *that* fast). You are welcome to email me if you think I've neglected any others.

  6. As far as the arch angel michael, the COG teaches that he is prophetically god.

But i am definitely sharing this with people I've preached to and with people who were baptized.

  9. Thank you so much for this blog. I only wish I had known this was here about 15 minutes ago when these two missionaries were at my door trying to tell me I wasn't saved or a Christian because I didn't believe in Mother God! I countered them with scripture the best I could but they wouldn't listen. Now that I know more about this cult, I will be ready next time they come to my door!

  11. Genny, Thank you for posting this information. I have found it very reassuring so far. However, I was reading what you posted as scriptures from the Bible and noticed that at about the middle of the page you quoted scripture from "Luke3:22-39", which I realized is actually Luke2:22-39. Other than that, please continue to search for evidence to prove the falsehood of the World Mission Society Church of God

  14. Hi - my Son is involved in this cult so deeply that I am heartbroken and concerned every day (it's been two years now). He has no motivation other than to get to eternal life. He does not work, he goes to church several times per week, he has given up a football scholarship and left school. When he looks for work it's places like Panera or Dunkin Donuts (places that he will never be able to survive and take care of himself an move out - he's 24). He says life is meaningless and he also says he's never been so happy in his life so he doesn't understand why I am worried about him. Any advice here on how to work on getting someone out of this cult? He says that the rest of us are not going to have eternal life because we don't keep the Sabbath. I say my God is not that ugly. He is constantly quoting things from the bible and I have no rebuttal. I am not knowledgeable enough to debate with him. Please help.

    1. Hi, I can only suggest this: That you pray for your son. Only God can change his heart.
You must equip yourself with the Bible to know what you are defending. Please, this may a calling to be in closer fellowship with our Lord.

Be joyfull because he found a great meaning of the kingdom of heaven...not only sabbath is important to keep but all The lords laws and commands and in the eyes of God there is greater reward in heaven than any career on earth...do not persecute him. God os the onlyone that promises joy...and he is proving you that HE keeps his promises....Jesus live a modest life...Apostol Paul had careers...political and social power and was rich...and after knowing The God and his promises and materialist life meaning....is pointless. Study the bible and us God to let you see....Jesus was slander and persecuted and called heretics and Hod himself was crucified but the ones that appear to be waiting for him

They wil not understand tat christ did not twist anything but was so simple to understand.. Jesus died for us to save us from the burden of all the laws... But wmscog say tat ter is a difference in law of moses an law of christ... Well i would say jesus is the same yesterday today an tommorrow... Plz understand one thing its still the same mission preach about jesus not a false prophet... If they say tat jesus said ter is a baptism to recieve an i am dustressed til tat happens tan it does not mean he has to come again.. It simply means tat he wil die on the cross an be baptised on the cross by fire.. If they say tat i have sheeps of another pen tan it means paradise where jesus was after his death till he rose.. Plz wmscog try to understand tat jesus sets us free from law but we have to believe... Amen

  16. I have met with a wmscog member. They bring a bible(NIV) and a booklet with information. They turn to pages with highlighted verses to prove their point. They are indoctrinated with an alternate understanding of Scripture. They promise life through the practice of traditions.

Colossians is a good book/letter to read. Paul addresses the church in Colossae that has been corrupted by a religion that mixed Jewish tradition with others. It is a great book as he tells them, traditions don't mean anything in the eyes of the Lord. He judges by the contents of our hearts. Salvation can be found in Jesus only.(Yeshua literally means God is my salvation. A name that God specifically chose for His son.)
"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ."
    Col.2:8; 16-17
    Also reference Isaiah1:14 and Psalm40:6
There is no salvation offered by a man born by man alone. There is no salvation found in the empty following of traditions.
Remember your foundations. Know what the truth is and you may weed out the false teachings.
These are harsh words, but I say them in honesty. Do not worship idols, false gods, or follow false teachings. These distract you from the true God. Instead, pray to Him daily, read His word, act in accordance with His will.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;" Romans3:23-24)
    God be with you all.

  17. First Mistake: The accuser is the devil (Rev 12:9-11). So it is not God who unjustly accused us but God allowed us to be unjustly accused. The mistake you point out is how come God who is just allow us to be unjustly accused. The answer is that since we are unjustly accused that is why 2,000 years ago God came in the flesh and sacrificed himself to redeem us (Lk 19:10). So God is indeed a just God. Before our souls are destroyed in the fire of hell we are being saved by the false accusations of Satan through the sacrifice of God.

    1. Hi again, Paul. Glad you've found this page. You and I seem to have a different idea of heaven. I believe God would not allow injustice in heaven and that if such a situation as you've described were to actually happen in heaven, that He would stop such false accusations immediately by punishing those who unjustly accuse, not those who are unjustly accused.

  18. Hello! Just attended the Passover yesterday and decided to do some more research today and glad that I stumbled upon this. Thank you for the intensive research that you have done, Genny! Just to share a bit of my experience with WMSCoG.

Being an open-minded person who is interested in religions (I've been taking introductory classes to know more about various religions and even went for Bible studies etc), I agreed to visit their church to "know more about what they are doing" after I was stopped by 2 ladies one evening and they spent close to an hour showing me videos etc. Both of them felt like genuinely nice people and I felt really comfortable with them.

Fast forward to after showing me verses that the Bible prophesied a lot of things which happened eventually and proving that the Bible is even capable of explaining science way before humans can explain gravity and whatnot, they showed me verses of people who got baptised the first time when they met prophets or God's messengers. I was like uh-oh and tried to reason with them that I'm not sure if I'm ready for this (baptism and Christianity) especially since I have my own faith and this is the first time I'm attending their church. And it was just a private session that involves flipping through the Bible.

I eventually got persuaded after a looooong time because one of them came up with an analogy that getting baptised is like having a ticket in your hand, it is eventually your choice whether or not to board the train so why not just get the free ticket now. (that sounds really ridiculous to me now cos isn't baptism supposed to be something sacred and important??) I got my name and particulars written in a Book of Life after that. I hope they don't pay me a surprise visit.

After which, I've rejected their invites to join them for Sabbath but I attended the Passover because I have heard about it (from a JW, no better) and would really want to see what it's like. it was then that I realised that their Jesus/God is a Korean man which I have previously never heard about. And their hymns are actually written by Koreans. Not that the nationality of the composers matters but shouldn't there be a "standard" set of hymns that believers use when they sing praises? In fact, I know some churches ban hymns altogether. (that's probably a story for another day)

All the people I've met there are really really nice people but I don't think I'll be going back there anymore.

    1. you should not take advise from someone who has yet to prove she is a true christian. it is like this. before you can take her word on ahnsahnghong being God you should be sure she is actually following God.

Would you go to an eye doctor to learn how to work out or a manager of a convenient store to have your heart operated on?

just look at what is shown. follow the ones following the bible. not the ones who slander and ridicule those following the bible. the jews railed on the christians 2000 years ago to because the christians followed a man who was god. christians did not keep the sabbath right, the passover right, the tabernacles right... the christians did nothing right in accordance with the jews yet everything right in accordance with God.

before you take Gennys word, make her prove she actually follows God and that she doesnt hate God

    2. For the reader's benefit, I will comment on what you've said, John, but if you'd like to respond, please continue the email conversation we have going.

      John said,
"before you can take her word on ahnsahnghong being God you should be sure she is actually following God"
Although I am a Christian, it is not necessary to be a Christian to know that Ahnsahnghong is not God.

      John said,
"follow the ones following the bible. not the ones who slander and ridicule those following the bible"
That statement can be turned right around to be said against the wmscog. It can be said that the wmscog does not follow the Bible (worshiping two humans as gods) and slanders and ridicules those following the Bible (mainstream Christians). It is not a useful argument for anything. More investigation is needed.

      John said,
"the jews railed on the christians 2000 years ago to because the christians followed a man who was god."
This is also irrelevant in regards to whether the wmscog preaches truth or not. Any false christ could say the same thing, "The Jews missed out 2000 years ago because they didn't believe in Jesus. Don't make the same mistake! Believe in me!" It needs further investigation.

      John said,
"before you take Gennys word, make her prove she actually follows God and that she doesnt hate God"
This website has my testimony and my views on Biblical teachings. Anyone may read it and come to their own conclusion about whether I follow God or hate God. However, in the end, it is God's judgment that counts.

God says in many ways that my sons are the one that keeps my laws and commands truthfully.....se the check list of who is againsta Gods laws...apointed times and appointed days...that makes the rightful in Gods eyes and fearfull to God...Holly ones...saints. The people who prrach or slander againts on single point of Gods law is against God and are leading you to the wilderness. Judge for yourself and don no go away from the straight path...Gods words are forever...in the last days will people call bad what is Good and Good what is bad... Wmscog...is stablish by Gods laws and Commands appointed times ans appointed days and knowing anshanghong is the best blessing in this age...all my familly is baptized and the veil in there eyes is gone...

    4. One of God's primary laws is to worship the ONE true God only. The wmscog's preaches against that law by telling you to worship two gods, and ordinary people as those two gods. I pray that you will be able to see this clearly.

    5. Hi, i was only approached today by a 3 members of this church. I have never heard of it before today, and as a christian i wanted to talk about our Lord! However, Their idea that this man is Christ returned just reminds me of the verse in Matt 24

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before.

26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

So if they are claiming this man to be Christ, then these verses tell me not to believe he is the Christ.

Furthermore, as i was listening to them and show me highlighted verses in the bible, it did not make sense to call 'God the mother' Even though paul said that Jerusalem is our mother, does that make jerusalem a God? This was really confusing. I thank the Lord that he filled me with his Word so i was not easily deceived.

Next they talked about the Garden of Eden. In this story of the fall of man, they claimed that Eve was a representation of God the mother, and Adam represented God the father. So i asked them, is it of any significance that the Serpent spoke to Eve instead of Adam? they replied, Adam could not be deceived, but Eve could. I said "But Adam was deceived. He was there with her. I did not get an answer to this question except, "It was of no significance." They concluding the Garden of Eden with Eve being the mother of all the living. therefore, she has to represent God the mother.

Next they argued about the water of life. In revelations it says the 'spirit and the Bride' meaning a different bride to that of the church of Christ. As i was not sure how to take there interpretation, i held my peace. I will wait on the Lord to reveal that to me.

They continued to flip to prophets to support their argument. From Daniel to Jeremiah, to Isiah and Zechariah to prove that we will meet Christ in Zion. from that they argued that the 144k people from the tribes of Israel have already been sealed and this represent the spiritual Israel. Again, i will wait on the Lord for this to be revealed to me. They claimed that the preceding passage is a representation of the world wars 1 and 2 and using the evidence of Israel's establishment in 1948 to support this. And finally, it was a representation of the parable of the fig tree, the fig tree being israel.

To conclude, their main message seems to be the passover. keeping the passover as Christ said. By using the word DO when Christ said; Do this in rememberance of me.

Now this was something i did agree with. But Christ Jesus also said, If you love me, keep my commandments. He knows those of us that love him and those of us that don't. So while keeping the passover is a sign of being his disciple, we don't do it in vain. We don't do it because we are afraid of not being saved, we do it because we Love Christ Jesus. Furthermore, salvation is a gift, it cannot be earned. thus if keeping the passover is a ticket to salvation, then explain this verse.

9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Unfortunately for this mob, i will never call a man Christ. No man is worthy of the name given to our savior, whose name has been lifted above any name, who has received Authority from our Father in Heaven. I will avoid this Church at all costs.

  19. I give thanks to God Elohim for opening my spiritual eyes to the truth, for distinguishing right from wrong. I have read your articles, yet I realized more how blessed I am that They called me. Truly only those who were born with the Holy Spirit can understand the Books of Truth written by Heavenly Father.
I felt so sorry to those who were fallen from the truth from reading this articles..
Please, you can only know the true Savior when you study the bible with correct interpretation that was unsealed by the Root of David.

    1. I'm glad you have read my articles. I hope you have read all of them.
It's dangerous to put all your trust and faith in only one Bible scholar. You must trust Ahnsahnghong very much to worship him as God.

      Delete
    2. please be aware, The word is not interpreted by man. Mans wisdom is foolishness to God. Therefore, only god can reveal the truth in his word.
These preachers are deceptive, and they twist the word of God, Just as the Serpent twists Gods commandment in the Garden of Eden.

Remember, if you read Matt 24 you will find these verses
23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before. 26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

While i think it is essential that every church of Christ teach his ways, his commandments. Jesus warned us about the Pharisees. Following the commandments outwardly is one thing, But following them in your heart out of Love for Christ Jesus, not some dead man, is another thing. There is no other God except our father in heaven. Even jesus came telling us that we pray only to our father, we worship only our father, we serve only our father. These are the Children of God.

Furthermore, regarding this heretical teaching of God the Mother (i cringe every time i type it) Let us make man in our image and in our likeness does not represent God talking to a female entity. And here is the reason why.

God was not alone in the beginning. And Sin cannot be in the presence of God. This is why Adam and Eve hid themselves. It is also why God had said to Cain, you will be hidden from my presence. Sin keeps us from Gods presence. So, every spirit in the presence of God is without Sin. If you agree with that, then isn't it more likely that God was talking to the Angels? To be made in the image of God is to be made in his righteousness. To be made in his likeness is to be like God in our spirit. Just as disciples of Christ are 'like Christ'

When man fell in the Garden of Eden, they lost their righteousness. It is why they were ashamed of being Naked. This is also proven by the fact that God clothed them in skins, representing innocent blood shed for the forgiveness of Sins. It is written that we are clothed in Righteousness by God. And after Jesus died and rose again, we are made righteous by his blood. through faith in Him. So as you can see, their argument for God the mother fails with Image.

      Secondly;
, If there was a 'God the mother' (i shutter every time I type that) and we receive the water of Life from her, and Eve was made in her image, then why did God create man from dust? and why did he create eve from his Rib? If your arguing that every family needs mother and father to have children, then why didn't they make us together?

Lastly, If Jesus has returned as this Guy and opened the seal, and put the seal of God in the foreheads of the 144k from the 12 tribes of israel, then how will you all be saved? only 144k spots out of your churches 2.5 billion seems like only a small amount are saved.

    3. We are saved by grace through faith! not through works. Our works are a testament to our faith, but they don't bring us salvation. Salvation is a gift, it is not, and cannot be earned. IF your doctrine is the right one, then explain these verses

9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Rom;10

6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Matt 14

Please read the bible and ask our father in heaven to reveal the truth to you. Because this Church does not have the truth in it.

I tell you this out of love for my brothers and sisters in Christ.

  20. Genny i would like to say sorry in behalf of any member of our church that had tried to offend you. They should respect any opinion and not let anger boil their blood but take in consideration that you are going against our church and you are dedicating all your time to go against it, when there are many others around. It makes me sad to see that your target is our church and that our members see you as a danger, when you are not because is up to the believer to keep the faith and follow god. Don't you think its up to the person to choose if they want to stay or leave but you are encouraging many to leave with your research that is not actually correct. if this church really bothers you there is no need for you to talk against it people have the right to be informed and you are right on that, but you are miss informed too.

It's interesting that you say, "if this church really bothers you there is no need for you to talk against it." Do you realize how much the wmscog talks against all other Christian churches? Would you give them the same advice, I wonder?

  21. Hi. I am a Bible believer, have faith in God and His Son Jesus and wants my soul to be redeemed someday. But I am not a member of ANY religious groups. I don't believe in Pope and the Catholic church, who did the horrifying Inquisition during Dark Ages; I don't believe in Muslims because Allah taught them to do murder because "that's what their god wants them to do"; I don't believe in other religions that do Sunday service because that worship is designated for the Sun God which is unlawfully against God's Sabbath; I don't believe you, since you are not even an ex-member of this church.

I found this church amazingly following God's feasts (which NOT ALL GROUPS are doing); they loved the tale that they were once angels and their Heavenly Parents came down on this earth to go save them and the Korean missionaries are all kind and friendly, even their gospel workers. Not really different from a group that consider themselves "family" and you'll see them smile each other, eat together, worship together. Too bad they are worshiping a wrong name, a wrong man - and woman for that matter - and all of them might suffer when that fateful Day comes.

No different from ALL of these groups who claimed that they were all in Christ when all are just murderers, robbers; disobeying all of God's words, worshiping carved stones, worshiping the Pope, the crosses, and all that is sinful in God's eyes,

I am not a member of any of these churches. I don't believe all of you.

  22. Wonderful post. This seems to be growing in the youthful people, and it's sad how they're indoctrinating young minds to believe this. I was recently approached at a junior college whilst doing errands, and all they did was pick out verses. They didn't even take it in context, and when confronted, they dismiss you and try another one. Their reasoning feels completely circular.

  25. I've been a Christian my entire life and it's always stuck by my side. When I moved to San Diego, two members of this cult hopped the fence into our gated community and was going door-to-door. I actually let them speak for a good 10 minutes and couldn't believe that this was actually a message that people believed in. The Bible is a book as a whole, you cannot chop it up into pieces to create a nonexistent "heavenly mother". Wouldn't praising a fake god -male or female- be considered an "idol", which is a sin? After spending a lot of time reading the bible and researching it seems that this whole idea ties into Matthew 24:1-4. In the end times many will claim "I am the Christ" and lead people astray, which is exactly what Ahnsahnghong did, as well as this woman claiming to be "god the mother", she is just leading people astray!

It does at least seem like there are a lot of people slowly coming out of the darkness that this cult "church" has created. I was starting to get really frustrated because I'm not sure how to help these people but am relieved that you have taken so much time to make an effort in showing members the light. It's kind of a helpless feeling watching people fall into this. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your work! I hope that it's saving even one person out there <3

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before.

  28. I've been going to a Zion for probably 7 months now. I've been going undercover though, I'm not actually religious. I went to the Zion really early on to be polite, I was basically mislead. Then they baptised me... They're expert manipulators. They must have years of training to be so persuasive and manipulative. The thing is though, I just don't believe it. There's so much I could tell you from the times I've been. The members are all great by the way. However, I'm pretty sure some members are on the spectrum and I pity them for being swallowed up by the church. I have to admit though, they teach the bible ONLY using the bible. They are expert scholars to a degree. They're programmed to explain everything you've mentioned in this thread. For some reason you don't believe it though? For the most part they simply teach what's in the bible.... Anyway, there's just something fishy about them all. I've got to know them personally, but at the same time, it's like they're not real. Like there's a hidden motive, idk, I could just be a paranoid person to be honest. ANYWAY, it's not much more ridiculous than any other denomination/church or even religion. You simply don't believe it. And I don't believe in any religion so my perspective is different. This thread is old, but I could speak more about my experiences etc if anyone is responds.

    1. Thanks for sharing your experience. Although you see them "teach the bible ONLY using the bible," their methods of studying the Bible are flawed. For example, they take verses out of context and ignore Hebrew grammar. It sounds like you are almost convinced by how they have taught you their beliefs but you feel there is still something wrong. That's the kind of red flag feeling that got me to examine their teachings more closely.
I agree that there are many very nice people there, but unfortunately being nice does not correlate to teaching truth.

    Through PROPHECY.

How can one know who the second coming Christ is?
    Through PROPHECY!

  30. Help me!

I am visiting Korea this summer and I was approached by a lady at a crosswalk while I was walking through Gangnam to find K-pop entertainment buildings, and let's just say I let her bring me to her "Zion" because I was lowkey board. They started explaining the Bible to me from a new prospective and I a bit awestruck. Then they started telling me about Jesus having already returned.
Then they told me that I needed to be baptized in Christ "new name". And like an idiot I let them. I regret it so much.

I'm only 19 and I'm here in Korea alone which I think made me seem like an easy target. But, little did they know that even though I may seem young and naive I have a pretty deep relationship with the ONE and only TRUE GOD. After the baptism I was still praying in Jesus Christ name because I didn't know I was supposed to be praying in Ahnsonghong and heavenly mother's names. But I prayed for God to open my heart and eyes to the truth that day. I continued to pray after that day this prayer for about the last 2 weeks because honestly I felt really confused so I kept asking God for wisdom. And God came through this past Tuesday. It was after the 3rd day service that I was curious and wanted to know more so I simply googled the church because I was aware that they had a website. I was going to read about my next "lesson" and I ended up reading their whole wikipage and Ahnsonghong's wikipage. That's when I realized that I was being brainwashed and lied to. The fact that this "church" even dares to go against the teachings of the one who they believe is the 2nd coming of Christ.

I feel absolute disgust towards the fact that they were really trying to brainwash me, and I was unaware but I was allowing it to happen. But I truly believe that Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, so there is no need for a 3rd day service to cleanse ourselves of our sins. Also we are saved by grace, which is a free gift so all this community service is nice but it doesn't get us to heaven. But boy, they really be trying to recruit people. I'm from the US. I can read Korean but I understand very little. So during services they would give me a device with an earpiece so that I could have a live translation of the sermon while I am sitting in the pew. There would be a member in a room during the services speaking into a speaker interpreting the Korean so that I could understand it.

But anyway I need advice for how to get out of my current situation? I just can't believe that I was almost pulled away from God to worship a false God. I never remembered their prayer of wishes anyways. But I refuse to pray in false Gods names. I literally broke into tears after I realized what was happening to me.

Advice for "how to get out of your current situation"... Stop attending or answering phone calls, even though they will try to convince you to "study more". Also, since you are already a Christian, God is very loving and forgiving. Talk to Him about it in prayer and let Him heal your heart and restore your relationship with Him.

PS - I think K-dramas and K-pop are fun! :) I hope you enjoy the rest of your visit in Korea!

  31. Thank you so much Genny for posting this blog! I was in Walmart minding my own business and 2 girls approached me. At first, they seemed innocent enough, but I have been a believer my whole life and have a genuinely deep walk with the Lord.. so I saw through it almost instantly. My dad is a pastor and I was raised in a home where the Bible is our foundation. Yet, I found it incredibly frustrating to be standing there and being told I need the "seal of God and need to eat the food" or whatever and basically her trying to tell me my whole walk with Christ wasn't real and communion "wasn't biblical". I was so flustered I lost what she was saying as soo as I realized it was heresy. I didn't know anything about WMSCOG and therefore was just trying to figure out what this girl was trying to say..because I still believed she was a misguided Christian with a few inaccurate points at that point. I explained to her salvation and that I am adopted as a daughter and co-heir with Christ. I explained confessing with my mouth and believing in my heart and what that meant. I asked why she was putting heavy burdens on others or attempting to add to the FINISHED work of Christ on the cross..I had no clue what she saying I needed to go get a seal for? Because I already AM in Christ. She got very defensive and said "I'm not adding anything, this is what Jesus says." I became more irritated than I imagined I would be..I realize now that my spirit felt off and I was grieved and righteously angry that she was so deceived. I knew I had to walk off at that point because I wasn't going to be kind.
A little while later while I was on the phone with my mom trying to figure out what the heck just happened, another girl approached me and began saying I needed a heavenly mother and that this was "Jerusalem"...neither of them ever went further into the part where they probably tell me about ahnsonghong because I started fighting back pretty quickly..however with this second girl, I resolved I am not even going to humor these arguments..I'm just going to start witnessing to her about Jesus and his death for her and that he loves her! Needless to say, she said "I'm sorry" and wanted to walk off pretty quickly.
But as soon as I got to my car I did a Google search and came across your blog..and I am so thankful for the research you've done and the info provided here. I felt terrible after leaving Walmart 1.) Realizing I need to know scripture better to defend what I know to be true 2.) Saddened that they are so lost and were probably in a vulnerable state to believe such ridiculousness 3.) Mad at myself for not keeping my cool and being able to speak to them in love a lot better than I did. I'm thankful that I sensed and felt the Holy Spirit in me going off like an alarm that something wasn't right here... I appreciate your resources and hope that I will be better equipped should I run into them again. I prayed for them the entire way home and really hope their eyes can be opened. I'm sickened that people have sooo twisted and chopped scripture to suit their agenda and have pulled so many people in who didn't know better. We worship the ONE true God..He has no rival. He has no equal. He reigns in love and justice and He will reign forever, regardless of what the false prophets teach that's is contrary. 32. Hey Genny thank you so much for so much wonderful information! My wife is trapped in the church for about 6 years and I'm still trying my best to get her out of it.. Anyone knows where I can actually obtain a hard copy of the books ASH wrote? I find it extremely useful especially most of the members do not know much of the context in it.. I even challenged the Decon by asking this, if ASH claimed that there was no such thing as God the mother, the idea was delusional and ridiculous, then why after his death the motherly God introduced the idea of God the mother again? And also why did ASH also wrote in his book that salvation can only be found in one name which is jesus no other name even in the last days? And he replied, simply because it was not time to reveal. To me this reason is totally invalid. So what he's trying to say is that God can just simply lie his way through as and when he likes? So does that mean I have faith in jesus so much later on he change his mind and say sorry the kingdom of heaven no longer has any vacancy. Try again next time. Lol. Just like to know where can I get a hard copy of his books so I can duplicate and share with the members
