Thanks for sending in the comment. :)...Hi, Edmond. Thanks for sending in the comment. :)

I recently found an article posted on the main church website that references the 3% mentioned by "More Water." You can find it here (scroll down to the bottom):
http://english.watv.org/press/content.asp?idx=952

Their chief pastor Kim Joo-cheol said that his personal opinion is that salvation of 3% of the world's population is a "realistic goal." He said, "Self-cleansing ability of the sea comes from the 3% of the salt in it. If we lead 3% of mankind to salvation, I believe that we can purify the whole world."

Personally, I wouldn't call that a "realistic goal." The estimated world population in mid-2010 reached more than 6.8 billion, so the goal keeps getting higher all the time. 3% of 6.8 billion is 204 million. And as far as I know, they still expect the world to end in 2012 (or earlier), so they haven't much time left.

But I also noticed that he slipped in that it's his "personal opinion," which means the church isn't bound to that figure as if it were a statement from 'Mother.'gennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18071946375996064205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2397025620170596837.post-55056370546825206382011-03-26T20:56:39.245-07:002011-03-26T20:56:39.245-07:00Ya, WMSCOG teaching totally contradict what Ahn Sa...Ya, WMSCOG teaching totally contradict what Ahn Sahng Hong taught in his book "The Mystery of God and the Spring of the Water of Life" on page 77(Korean-English Edition) as mentioned by Genny. If you read page 77 of the said book, Ahn Sahng Hong mentioned that children of promise = remnant = 144,000. And he also stated that only the 144,000 will be saved.

But WMSCOG teaching is that there will be two groups: 144,000 and the multitude. Both will still go to heaven and have salvation just that the only difference will be the fact that only the 144,000 will go to heaven alive. The multitude will somehow die physically first in the world-end disasters and then will proceed to heaven afterwards.

But Ahn Sahng Hong did not mentioned anything about the multitude and he did stated very clearly in his book that only the 144,000 will be SAVED and transfigured to go up to heaven alive. This is what I understand and know so far, if there are any ex-members reading this about the 144,000 please I would greatly appreciate if you can add on something that we do not already know, if indeed there is any. Or if you know what is the church response to Genny three questions up there please also let us know.

So far my stand is this: If WMS said that there will be other persons that will be saved apart from the 144,000, then they are contradicting what Ahn Sahng Hong taught in his book on page 77. If they said that the 144,000 are the only ones that will be saved and go to heaven, then as per Genny there will be many who did all that the church required of them and still fail to reach heaven, if based on the current 1.2 million members of WMSCOG as per their official website, then that is only about 12%.

Also I read the "more water" article up there I did not quite get it why they had to multiply the world population by 3% and then come out with the figure. Is this figure the maximum number of members that WMS can have or what? In any case as per Genny the church will need around 198 million members based on the world population of 6.6 billion in 2007. And how long will it takes for WMS to have that number of members? Seeing that now they only have 1.2 million members? 198 - 1.2 = 196.8 millionEdmondnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2397025620170596837.post-57046550078839085082011-03-21T20:01:20.584-07:002011-03-21T20:01:20.584-07:00That is a good point, Ammu. I just wanted to add that in Revelations 21:1 and 2 It is written [ Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.]

I guess this means that heavenly Jerusalem will come after the new heaven and new earth is placed and not before that. Off course i m not a scholar but it seems worth mulling over, because if Heavenly Jerusalem has come the where is the New heaven and New Earth.ARShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04334078883474375527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2397025620170596837.post-27479523564266896102010-10-14T20:21:21.071-07:002010-10-14T20:21:21.071-07:00...and I still haven't seen this big thing tha......and I still haven't seen this big thing that is going to make people get baptized like crazy. I thought it was really interesting, so I'm going to repost it here. It would be great if someone can add to it, confirm it, or...?

"I was a former member, thank God I am out. I can shed some light on some of the questions. "Mother," a while back (a year ago maybe) announced that the sealing of the 144,000 was done, so I guess many of the new members are out of luck. She used some random verse from the bible which states that salt purifies the water of the world then they went to revelations and used the great multitude verse (great multitude represents fresh water). So, then they went on to multiply 3%(% of fresh water on earth) by the world population = 180 million. So, to answer your question, the church of god now needs 180 MILLION MEMBERS or BELIEVERS. Unfortunately for them, they will die in the disasters unlike the 144,000 but will still go to heaven. However, the members still teach new members that they can still be part of the 144,000 because who knows, some of the original chosen can die spiritually and they can lose "their crowns" to someone who was not originally "chosen." If a member dies then they use the excuse that they were part of the "great multitude.""

(And by the way, I did the math... The current world population was estimated at 6.6 billion in 2007. 3% of that is 198 million. If, out of a church of 198 million, only 144,000 had the seal, that's only 0.07%! Only a miniscule number of them would have the seal, yet it's one of the major doctrines for drawing new members.)gennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18071946375996064205noreply@blogger.com
